L'Oreal Lash Paradise and Essence Volume Stylist
When it comes to mascara it takes a lot for me to be impressed. My lashes are short, don't curl easily and tend to stick straight down. I know if I want length and volume, I should just put on lashes. However, there are days that I'm not able to apply them and these two mascara's have been my "go to" lately. Both are great affordable drugstore mascara's but they work differently for me.
L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise
L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise separates and lengthens my lashes very well. I don't feel like it adds a ton of volume as it suggests but it does a good job. It doesn't flake or smudge on my eyes and doesn't clump. I have the black and I think there's a darker black available that I would like to try. The packaging is beautiful and does remind me of the Better than Sex mascara by Too Faced. I've seen countless reviews saying this mascara is a dupe, but I've never tried the Too Faced one. My biggest con for this mascara would be the brush. I have small eyes and the brush is a bit big. I find it hard to get the brush into the inner corner of my eye. It doesn't grab those small hairs easily. I did have to use this mascara a few times to get use to the bigger brush. Overall, I think this is a good mascara.
Essence Volume Stylish Curl and Hold Mascara
The Essence Volume Stylist Curl and Hold Mascara was my favorite of the two mascara's I tried. I can't say that this mascara helped keep a curl in my lashes, because they are really hard to curl but it did add volume and lengthen my lashes very nicely. The wand is the biggest reason why I liked this mascara over the L'Oreal. While it has a nice big brush to separate the lashes, the wand does tapper at the end to help grab those small inner corner lashes on my eye. This mascara did not flake or smudge on me. It built well and I didn't experience any clumping. The packaging on this one was also cute. Essence has great mascara's and this one did not disappoint.
Have you tried either of these mascara's?
